Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026. This page explains what BillKilled collects, why, and who else touches your data when you use the service.
What we collect
If you create an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text). If you try BillKilled without an account, we assign a temporary guest session so you can view your results without signing up.
When you upload a bill, we extract the text from the PDF to identify your provider, service type, and monthly amount. Account numbers are automatically redacted down to the last 4 digits before that text is stored or used to generate scripts — we don't need, and don't keep, your full account number.
We also keep a security and activity log (for example: logins, uploads, and script views) so we can detect abuse and troubleshoot issues, and basic usage records tied to AI script generation (which script types were generated, when, and whether it succeeded).
How we use it
Your bill details are used to generate phone, chat, email, and escalation negotiation scripts tailored to your provider and situation. Account and activity data is used to run the service, secure your account, and improve how we detect providers and generate scripts.
Who else is involved
BillKilled relies on a small number of third-party services to work:
- OpenAI processes the redacted bill text to generate your negotiation scripts.
- Stripe processes payments if you upgrade to Pro. We never see or store your full card number — Stripe handles that directly.
- Google AdSense serves ads to visitors on the Free plan (Pro members don't see ads). Google may use cookies or similar technology to serve and measure those ads; see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- Our email provider sends transactional email only — things like password resets — never marketing spam.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies: one to keep you signed in, and one to let guest (no-account) sessions view their own uploaded bill results. Free-plan pages may also set advertising cookies from Google AdSense, described above.
Deleting your data
You can delete individual bills at any time from your history page. You can also permanently delete your entire account from your account page — this removes your account, all uploaded bills and files, generated scripts, and activity history. This action can't be undone.
Security
We use industry-standard practices such as password hashing and encrypted connections (HTTPS) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Children's privacy
BillKilled is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
